Uno is a classic card game that tends to make an appearance at most gatherings in person with friends and family. The special action cards can alter that game entirely. Uno isn’t just luck — you also need strategy and to make smart moves. In this guide, KingJL will take you through everything you need to know.

What is Uno?
Uno is a card game that can be played by 2 to 10 players.
The Uno deck consists of 108 cards, which are broken down into color groups that have their own functions.
The first player to empty his or her hand wins the game.
Uno Deck
- The Uno deck features 108 cards across four colors — red, yellow, green, and blue.
- Each color has number cards ranging from 0 to 9 plus a few color’s action cards:
- Draw Two (+2), Wild Draw Four (+4), Wild (Color Change), Reverse y Skip.
How to Play Uno

- Dealing cards:
Everybody’s dealt 7 cards. The rest of the cards are placed in a pile face down in the center as a draw pile. Players peruse their cards and prepare to play.
- Starting the game:
By turning the top card off the draw pile, the dealer reveals this card to the center – this will be the first card in play. Los jugadores, a continuación, se turnan para jugar en sentido horario (o antihorario, según las reglas de vuestro grupo).
- Playing cards:
To play, you must place a card that matches the color or number of the top card on the pile.
If you have no matching card, draw one from the draw pile.
If the drawn card is playable, you may play it immediately; otherwise, your turn is skipped.
Basic Rules
Rule 1: Play a card with the same color or number as the previous one.
Rule 2: You can play a black function card (Wild or Wild Draw Four) at any time.
Rule 3: If you can’t play, draw one card. If it’s playable, play it right away; if not, your turn ends.
The game ends when one player has played all their cards — but note that the final card must be a number card.
If your last card is a function card, you must draw one more and continue playing.
Function Cards in Uno
- Draw Two (+2): The next player draws 2 cards and loses their turn.
- Wild Draw Four (+4): The next player draws 4 cards and skips their turn.
- Wild (Color Change): The player chooses the next color to continue the game.
- Reverse: Changes the direction of play — clockwise to counterclockwise or vice versa.
- Skip: The next player loses their turn.
